Abstract
Artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) are emerging as promising tools in pharmaceutical research and drug delivery. Analysing the complex relationship between formulation variables and product performance, these technological advances can accelerate formulation development and support the design of advanced drug delivery systems. However, challenges related to data quality, model interpretability, regulatory acceptance, and experimental validation remain. Although AI cannot replace scientific experts, its integration with robust pharmaceutical principles has the potential to transform drug delivery and advance the development of safer, more effective, and patient centred therapies.
