Copyright and Licensing Agreement

Authors publishing in the International Journal of Drug Discovery and Pharmaceutical Innovation (IJDDPI) retain the copyright of their work and grant the journal the right of first publication, with the work licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).

The agreement is completed after acceptance. There is no copyright form to complete at submission. When a manuscript is accepted for publication, the corresponding author automatically receives an email containing a personal, pre-filled signing link. The signed agreement is then generated as a numbered PDF, emailed to the corresponding author and to the editorial office, and recorded by the journal.

What the Agreement Covers

The agreement follows the standard structure used by international scholarly publishers — grant of rights, author warranties, moral rights, corrections and retraction, and governing law. So that authors know in advance exactly what they will be asked to confirm, the substantive clauses are set out below. By signing after acceptance, the corresponding author confirms, on behalf of all authors, that:

  1. Originality. The work is original, has not been published previously, and is not under consideration for publication elsewhere.
  2. Authorship and authority to sign. All listed authors have approved the final manuscript and its submission, and the corresponding author is authorised to sign this agreement on their behalf. Where the work was prepared in the course of employment, the employer has consented.
  3. Ethics. The work complies with the journal’s publication ethics, plagiarism policy, and AI policy; ethical approval and informed consent have been obtained where applicable.
  4. Third-party material. Written permission has been obtained for any copyrighted third-party material reproduced in the manuscript.
  5. Lawfulness and safety. The work contains nothing unlawful, defamatory, or rights-infringing; all factual statements are true to the best of the authors’ knowledge; and it contains no formula, procedure, or dosage that could cause harm if followed as directed.
  6. Grant of licence. The authors retain copyright, grant IJDDPI (Aloka Publications) the right of first publication, and agree that the work will be published under the CC BY 4.0 licence.
